Microneedling

Making YOUR skin work better!

Microneedling is one of the most advanced aesthetic modalities that regenerates the skin unlike many other treatments. Microneedling stimulates the production of our own collagen within the upper papillary dermis and epidermal/dermal junciton. This restores the skins’ volume and youthful plumpness, diminishing fine lines and smoothing deeper wrinkles, decreases redness by restoring the support system for our micro-circulation, and evens out skin texture and tone by stimulating our cells to function more efficiently once again. It is considered a gold-standard anti-aging skin treatment with countless studies backing the science behind it. Skin rejuvenation that truly sets our biological clock back by years.

Cellular Communication for Beautifully Healthy Skin

True skin rejuvenation manipulates cellular communication for maximum results. To truly maximize and optimize the performance of a microneedling session, the session needs to be combined with the right topical nutritional tools that flood the skin with additional protein molecules to help heal and rejuvenate our skin. TE Spa uses a perfect topical for just that - a base of high molecular weight hyaluronic acid with bone marrow stem cell growth factors and cytokines housed within. This highly potent serum will penetrate into the skin during the needling procedure helping to optimize the cell to cell signaling that microneedling naturally produces. This combination works to amplify the messages and instructions between the skin cells, instructing them to heal, regenerate, produce collagen, and reduce inflammation unlike any other microneedling topical, including PRP!

How it Works:

Microneedling is a non-surgical, non-ablative procedure that involves the use of tiny needles to create thousands of microinjuries. These injuries trigger the body's own healing process and stimulate collagen production. The microneedling treatment takes approximately 1 hour to complete. Results can be seen within 1 to 2 weeks and your skin will continue to improve over the next 6 to 12 months. Microneedling is suitable for all Fitzpatrick skin types, is a quick procedure, there is minimal discomfort during the treatment (your skin is numbed), and there is minimal downtime involved.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often can I have microneedling done?

Most skin types can tolerate microneedling every four to six weeks. For progressive results a series of 3 to 5 treatments is recommended to start. After that one treatment every 4 to 6 months is necessary to maintain the benefits.

What does microneedling feel like? Is it painful?

During the treatment, you will feel a light vibration sensation as the microneedles are passed over your skin. A numbing cream is applied beforehand to minimize any pain or discomfort.

What are the side effects of microneedling?

The most common side effect is temporary redness and swelling. You may also experience bruising, itching, and dry skin. These side effects typically resolve within a few days.

How long is the downtime after microneedling?

There is usually no downtime associated with microneedling. You can expect your skin to look and feel like you have a mild sunburn for 24 - 48 hours after the treatment. You may wear makeup and sunscreen the following day.

Is microneedling safe?

Yes, microneedling is considered a safe procedure with minimal risks. TE Spa uses a microneedling device that is licensed by Health Canada and the utmost care is taken to ensure a sterile and hygenic service is provided.

Is it ok to do this treatment if you have fillers or neuromodulators (botox)?

It is perfectly fine to have a microneedling treatment if you have fillers or neuromodulator injections, you just need to wait 2 weeks after your injections to book a microneedling treatment.
